Fans of The Walking Dead have expressed deep displeasure with the state of its new video game, Fear the Walking Dead: Ultimate Edition.

Destinities should have been left dead and buried – and players could not agree more!

Last fall we announced that The Walking Dead: Destinies would soon make its debut across gaming platforms.

Previous games such as TellTale adaptations of The Walking Dead focused more on in-world choices and story, but with this game you are free to alter events from all three seasons of TV show itself – creating your very own multiverse!

Un oft-cited example is how players can alter the outcome of Rick and Shane’s standoff in Season 2, choosing who will become protagonist from then on.

Sounds promising? Not so fast… the game is embarrassingly bad; no surprise given it was developed by the same developer responsible for Skull Island: Rise Of Kong. Gollum was released this year as well and joined it as yet another broken mess released this year.

Fan dissatisfaction has been clearly expressed since The Walking Dead: Destinies is being sold for an exorbitant premium price without providing sufficient quality or coherence to justify such a cost.

Fans have taken notice of all that’s wrong with the game and single out its cutscenes as an issue – one Reddit user even posted “I can’t believe this is an actual cutscene…”.

As soon as Rick realized his beloved Laurie hadn’t made it home safely, an incredible PowerPoint cutscene came alive to tell their tale in comic fashion and turn a supposed tragic moment into one-sided farce.

Players who had participated or witnessed others participate were simply stunned at what they witnessed.

One user said “That wasn’t even real!”.

Another commenter observed, “All the cutscenes look exactly the same lmao; no effort was put forth into animating any part.”

One eventually joked “Oh my gosh, this made me laugh out loud for an extended period. Game of the year material right here!”

Unfortunately for developers, due to tight deadlines and budget restraints what could have been an amazing Walking Dead concept into an embarrassment of riches.
