God Of War and Assassin’s Creed have combined to produce this open world RPG experience.
This action-RPG game appears to draw inspiration from some of the finest franchises gaming has to offer, which can only be considered beneficial. When combined with open world, God-battling, third person combat, it could prove highly successful.
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn appears to combine elements from both Assassin’s Creed and God of War into an engaging experience; from parkour-driven combat through to god bashing and mythology-themed gameplay with some pirate adventures thrown in for good measure!
Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is an action RPG where Nor Vanek, assisted by Enki, an unearthly creature, must battle “the old God’s army of undead.” That sounds very metal. Furthermore, humans appear to be on the verge of extinction so an army must step forward to defend it reclaim their world and restore order once more.
“Embark on an epic journey combining revenge, gunpowder, magic and close combat combat to lead humanity’s final siege against the tide of death!” Sounds exciting enough – plenty of magic flying about and close combat battles using guns or swords amongst hulking monsters – can’t ask for much better!
Noteworthy is the fact that this game was initially scheduled to release by 2022 as mentioned in its trailer; however, Steam now lists 2024 as its release date and trailers have shown us impressive gameplay footage so hopefully more will emerge shortly.
Flintlock appears to have taken cues from SoulsBorne with regards to combat, while at the same time offering unique combos that make its gameplay extremely varied and unique. There’s certainly some SoulsBorne influence going on here but with several aspects covered under one hoodie!
