PlayStation Plus users have applauded “underrated” survival horror titles like Alien: Blackout for being underappreciated in terms of rating.
Survival horror games have experienced something of a revival in 2023 with both old and new releases capturing gamers’ interest – with one of the top recent horror titles available through PlayStation Plus subscription being playable at any given time.
The Evil Within 2 is an exceptional horror game and deserves our full appreciation; one player recently took to Reddit in order to raise awareness for this superb title.
Reddit user “u/Cup-of-Noodle” started the discussion when they opened a thread claiming, “The Evil Within 2 really scratches that survival horror itch.” And they are correct in noting this horror sequel is both gory, brutal, and creepy – as their post stated, likening it to Resident Evil 4 and Silent Hill series having had their baby together! One user even completed their playthrough of The Evil Within 2, fanboying out so much as they played through that they felt justified waiting so long awaited. They concluded their playing session by asking, “Why did I wait so long?”
Reaction to The Evil Within 2 has been highly positive. Fans note the similarities with Resident Evil games due to its creative director having created both. Many players praised The Evil Within 2, even if the initial one failed to grab their interest: “[Couldn’t get into [the first game], watched a recap and played EW2. It is now one of my favourite survival horror games – almost on par with RE4 personally!”
