Hogwarts Legacy fans are hopeful a fresh set of “gameplay” is on its way after discovering an online clue to this effect.
Fans believe a recent job advert from Warner Bros is evidence they may be planning something else for Hogwarts Legacy, possibly an expansion DLC pack.
Hogwarts Legacy was undoubtedly the top seller in 2023 and for good reason: its stunning recreation of wizarding life combined with gameplay that felt just like living our own magical adventure was unforgettable for players.
Though The Game Awards rejected it this year and caused considerable outrage from players, that has not stopped players from enjoying and wanting more from this Harry Potter spin-off game.
Once completed, once-through stories and side contents, the world becomes depressingly empty; fans believe a DLC expansion could easily remedy this, especially considering it is now playable on nearly every platform, such as Xbox, PlayStation, PC and Nintendo Switch.
Fans believe an expansion or continuation may be on the horizon thanks to a newly posted job listing for Hogwarts Legacy team.
Reddit user ItsYaGirlConfusion recently shared an employment listing for a Senior Producer position that has many players convinced something may be in the works.
Commenters speculated as to what this could entail and offered their own suggestions of new gameplay elements that might be added either to the current game, or its sequel.
One said: “I hope they add some sort of school schedule into their next game like Bully did.”
Another added: “They need to focus on Halo 2.”
Finally one fan commented: “I hope the developers listen to us; I would rather wait longer and get an experience that has more depth, rather than one with thin storyline, low replay value, or missing features which comes out sooner.”
As the original sold so well across multiple platforms, a sequel that enhances and expands upon it could likely break records in sales.
