Starfield adventurers will now have access to underwater exploration thanks to an inventive modder who understands my fears surrounding underwater gaming exploration in video games.
TechRadar Gaming was first to bring news of an aquatic enthusiast’s dream: we quickly went diving through ‘Underwater Diving Restoration’ mod despite its seemingly mundane title – you won’t believe what lies hidden underneath those sci-fi waters!
What makes this mod particularly intriguing is that this modder has never before shared their work – normally keeping their mods for personal use only! According to its description, you will now have access to “go underwater again like in Bethesda games!” This allows for you to admire aquatic creatures more fully while harvesting non-lethally while they remain submerged!
As gamers who do not relish harming innocent creatures, we welcome any opportunity to harvest aquatic wildlife more humanely – though whether underwater gameplay agrees or not is open for debate.
No one at Team Starfield has tried the Starfield mod yet, but one of the little marine creatures lurking underwater in some mod screenshots has me convinced I won’t like it: his face filled with menace, his maw lined with jagged teeth… just thinking about all that lurks down there makes our stomach turn! Without doubt though, Bethesda wouldn’t need to say games fans find boring without mods if this feature were included directly within its vanilla code!
PC mods, particularly the one I am currently playing, can be particularly unnerving due to a lack of “underwater fog”. “Because Bethesda never intended us to go underwater, the underwater fog does not exist so you will appear to be midair” claims Ghostrider231. While this may appear beneficial – no surprise attacks coming at you from underwater will sneak up behind, but at the same time being clear enough for you to clearly spot anything coming your way if anything swims your way!
