Days Gone was an advanced technological feat that deserves its own PS5 sequel.
Some video games get forgotten when it comes to remasters and sequels; Red Dead Redemption at least received a port, although that release fell flat. What about technological masterpieces such as Days Gone though; that deserves its own sequel but none appears imminently on the horizon.
Sony rejected Days Gone 2 back in 2019, which left us all reeling and grieved to no end. Though initially met with mixed reviews and opinions, over time its reception has become significantly better and fans of Days Gone now hold it in high regard despite any initial opposition they received upon launch.
But while Sony may seem unlikely to release another installment, we beseech them nonetheless to reconsider – not only because their story remains incomplete but because this game blew our minds when “300 zombies could all fit on screen without slow-down”. Though its release wasn’t perfect (there were quite a few bugs found early on), the developers worked their magic and provided fans with something truly worth revisiting: an unforgettable game experience that just begs a return visit from fans everywhere!
“This game had an amazing story,” noted one long-term fan. “Toward the middle of the game, one of Deacon’s side characters asked why he and Deacon still kept living; Deacon replied ‘Because what else are we supposed to do?’ and this made me tear up deeply as an individual struggling with depression.” This statement really resonated with me personally.”
Deacon may not be perfect; his behavior often raises alarm bells. But does being idealistic necessitate sequels in games and films? We think not – plenty of characters in both forms continue being followed because we want to know where their stories lead them.
Although many fans long for it, it remains unlikely that we’ll see another Days Gone sequel made available for Steam and PlayStation users – at least we still get to play the original title! At least that counts as something positive!
