GTA 6 will not launch for PC at launch.
Rockstar Games recently sent shockwaves through the world when it unexpectedly released the trailer for GTA VI; many were delighted, while PC fans have expressed displeasure.
After months of speculation about when and what the GTA VI trailer would feature, as well as Rockstar Games’ full release date plans for GTA VI, we finally have all of our answers.
Rockstar announced last month that we’d get our first glimpse at Grand Theft Auto V on 5 December; unfortunately this plan fell through as its trailer leaked early and made headlines across social media outlets.
But we’re certainly not complaining; console players would agree it looks stunning…
Eye-swivelling fans might have picked up toward the end of the trailer that all platforms confirmed for release were Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, with no mention made about a PC release date.
Fair play to Rockstar; their PC versions tend to arrive much later than console ones. GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2 had similar stories behind their releases – it looks likely this time as well!
Though this news comes as something of a setback to PC gamers, it should not be seen as the end of the world; plenty of PC players have noted how Grand Theft Auto VI could convince them to switch platforms altogether if any game were capable. Don’t fret though as there will likely be a PC port within one or two years after release!
GTA VI will launch in 2025; its specific release date remains unannounced at this point.
