Baldur’s Gate 3 free download now available
Baldur’s Gate 3 fans should come together: Larian has just issued yet another hotfix just ahead of shutting down for the holiday season.
At the start of 2023, many were expecting Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Starfield to vie for Game of the Year honors across PlayStation, Nintendo Switch and Xbox. Little did we anticipate what an impressive 12 month of games that it would become; in our review of Baldur’s Gate 3 we noted it stood out amongst them all by far and away; “In an otherwise excellent year filled with so many excellent titles it truly stands out; no other title comes close!” In our review we noted how Baldur’s Gate 3 stood tall over all competitors by far; our review stated “it simply stands taller over most others; not sure we will ever witness anything quite so impressive again”.
Over Christmas, many will likely dive back in – whether due to having finally found some free time or receiving it as a present – or returning players looking for additional hours of content in this world. Well, now’s an opportune time for that too; download now the latest hotfix that brings with it much-needed changes; no game is ever truly perfect or complete.
Devs explained, “the fix tackles various crashes, blockers and gameplay issues”. For instance, have you encountered characters transforming into horrifying stretched out faces with pitted flesh in place of eyes? Thank goodness no longer is that an issue! Additionally, this hotfix addresses an issue where players couldn’t load save games when mods had been installed onto PC versions of the game.
Japanese language settings are now available on Steam and PS5 (for Japanese players only) along with various bug fixes that you can read about in our full patch notes.
