Fallout creator Ken Ralston thinks the upcoming open-world RPG will impress you.
As fans eagerly anticipate Fallout 5, one thing we know for sure is that The Outer Worlds 2 should arrive before its official debut from Bethesda Software.
Bethesda announced Fallout 5 in 2018, yet its release date remains unknown. If all goes according to plan, we could see Fallout 5 come out anytime after The Elder Scrolls VI was unveiled in 2018. But who knows, perhaps our adventure into Tamriel may come sooner!
Obsidian Entertainment released The Outer Worlds for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in 2019, followed by Nintendo Switch in 2020 – considered by many fans of Fallout: New Vegas an intergalactic adventure packed with an engaging story, expansive world, and quirky characters for gamers who desire such experiences. This was considered by fans familiar with its predecessor and those newcomers to sci-fi alike to be their dream intergalactic journey!
At its unveiling in 2021, fans were overjoyed when Microsoft acquired Obsidian Entertainment; unfortunately, The Outer Worlds 2 will only be coming to PC and Xbox Series X|S. Sorry, PlayStation 5 gamers!
We know very little about The Outer Worlds 2. However, Tim Cain–creator of Fallout and Obsidian Entertainment RPG consultant–told RockPaperShotgun that fans would be impressed with improvements made in The Outer Worlds 2.
Due to NDA restrictions, Cain couldn’t reveal strictly what improvements will come about; however, she hinted that Obsidian Entertainment might finally “find” an answer, which has plagued them since working on Fallout in 1995! We can’t wait for more! We want more!
At this writing, The Outer Worlds 2 does not yet have an exact release date but is expected to drop sometime in early 2026 for PC and Xbox Series X|S.
