Superman fans finally have something exciting in Unreal Engine 5 to look forward to!
Superhero videogames have seen unprecedented popularity this past year with the release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, one of many worthy Games of the Year candidates.
At Insomniac Games’ recent The Game Awards event, it was also revealed that Arkane Lyon is working on Marvel’s Blade. While we only have a cinematic teaser trailer to go off of so far, its tone sets an epic one! I hear you regarding DC’s Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League coming soon, which may present us with another tonal shock after the Arkham trilogy but is shaping up nicely as far as trailers go, and we all would love to explore more DC superheroes (such as Superman!).
While we may not yet have an official Superman game to feast our eyes upon, the upcoming indie action-adventure release Undefeated: Genesis should satisfy those looking to channel Clark Kent.
Indie-us Games’ Undefeated: Genesis is an action game designed around superhero characters soaring freely over an alien world and unleashing extraordinary powers. Your goal will be to defeat enemy giants by using your incredible abilities against massively destructive environments. Does that sound pretty enjoyable?
The game follows a college student hit by a meteor and then discovered to have various powers after awakening on an unfamiliar planet. Unfortunately, however, the student soon learned the Earth is entirely made up of destructive mutants who must be stopped to save its remaining survivors and Earth itself!
Undefeated: Genesis, developed on Unreal Engine by a team based out of Osaka, Japa,n will serve as the opening game in an ambitious trilogy featuring “homage to superheroes while creating an expansive story.” While we don’t know its release date or timing for further news about Undefeated: Genesi, we will keep an eye out.
