Unreleased Until Dawn PS3 Prototype Gameplay Surfaces Online

A previously unseen prototype of *Until Dawn*, originally developed for the PlayStation 3, has surfaced online, offering a glimpse of what the game could have been before its 2015 PlayStation 4 release. The footage, shared by the Digital Preservation YouTube channel, shows a sharp contrast to the final product, with the prototype featuring a first-person perspective and motion controls.

Originally announced in 2012, *Until Dawn* was first developed with the PlayStation Move peripheral in mind, utilizing motion controls to create an immersive experience. This version, which is about half the length of the finished PS4 game, includes several elements that made it into the final product, such as the cabin setting and Wendigo attacks. However, it differs significantly in gameplay style, particularly the first-person view and the absence of some story elements.

The prototype footage provides fans a rare look at the game as it might have been, showcasing the early vision for the horror experience. However, with the recent shutdown of the *Until Dawn* remake’s developer and the fading prospects for a direct sequel, it remains to be seen if this prototype will ever be made available to the public.
