The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered 2.0 Update Causing Progression Issues

Players of *The Last of Us Part 2 Remastered* have reported major issues with the game’s 2.0.0 update, which is causing progression losses. Specifically, the update is resetting Abby’s and Ellie’s character skills and, in some cases, deleting certain weapon holsters. The patch, which was intended to celebrate the recent PC release by adding new content across all platforms, has instead introduced some significant problems.

The 2.0.0 update brings new maps, characters, trophies for the roguelike mode *No Return*, and cosmetic items, along with fixes for performance and gameplay glitches. However, players have experienced crashes and data loss, particularly on certain devices.

Naughty Dog acknowledged the issue in the official patch notes, warning players not to overwrite manual save files. The developer has not yet promised a fix but suggests a workaround until more details emerge.

While it remains unclear whether the progression loss is tied to downloading the patch or overwriting save files in New Game Plus, players are advised to hold off on starting new runs or installing the update until the issue is resolved. Fans who have made progress in the campaign or *No Return* mode should be cautious when applying the 2.0.0 update.
