Zelda Switch 2 Upgrade Pack Priced at $9.99 Each
Nintendo has revealed that the upgrade packs for *The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom* on the Switch 2 will be priced at $9.99 each. These upgrade packs, announced earlier during the Switch 2 Nintendo Direct, will allow players to experience these titles at superior frame rates and resolutions on the new console, taking full advantage of its enhanced hardware.
While the Switch 2 is not fully compatible with all original Nintendo Switch titles, most games will be backwards-compatible. However, select titles, including *Breath of the Wild* and *Tears of the Kingdom*, will offer paid upgrade packs, providing improved performance and in some cases, new features or modes.
For players who already own the base games, the Zelda upgrade packs will cost $9.99 in the U.S., though international pricing has not been confirmed. Nintendo has also stated that players with the Switch Online + Expansion Pack service will gain access to these upgrade packs at no additional cost.
Details about pricing for upgrade packs for other games, such as *Super Mario Party Jamboree*, *Kirby and the Forgotten Land*, and upcoming titles like *Metroid Prime 4: Beyond* and *Pokemon Legends: Z-A*, have not been revealed yet. Early previews of the Zelda games on the Switch 2 have shown positive feedback, with improved visuals and smoother gameplay.
