New Hollow Knight: Silksong Screenshots Showcase Updated Locations
Fans of *Hollow Knight: Silksong* have been treated to new screenshots offering a fresh look at locations first seen in the 2019 trailer. With the game expected to release later this year, these images provide a glimpse of its ongoing development.
Following the success of 2017’s *Hollow Knight*, developer Team Cherry announced the sequel in 2019. This time, players will control Hornet, a character from the first game, through a visually stunning world filled with challenging bosses and intricate environments. The game has generated significant excitement, but the wait for its release has stretched to six years. Thankfully, a brief teaser shown during the Nintendo Switch 2 Direct on April 2 confirmed *Silksong* is still on track for a 2025 release.
In addition to the teaser, new images have appeared on the Nintendo Japan website, as shared by *Hollow Knight* expert mossbag69 on Twitter. These images highlight locations first seen in the 2019 trailer, including Bellhart, the Lace fight, and the starting area. Mossbag69 also provided comparisons showing how these areas have evolved since the initial reveal. Notable changes include a blurrier background in Bellhart and adjustments to the surrounding bug characters.
While the new screenshots don’t reveal anything entirely new, they’ve fueled excitement among fans. The tweet showcasing the images has already garnered over 37,000 likes, emphasizing the growing anticipation for the game.
In addition to the screenshots, Team Cherry provided an update regarding the game’s availability. Despite concerns that *Silksong* might skip the original Nintendo Switch, marketing lead Matthew Griffen assured fans the game will be available on both the original Switch and the new Switch 2.
Though fans are still awaiting an official release date, these updates have reassured many who feared *Hollow Knight: Silksong* might never see the light of day.
