Deltarune to Feature Exclusive Dual-Mouse Controls on Nintendo Switch 2
Deltarune will include a special feature exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2, offering a unique gameplay experience. The upcoming release will feature a room where players can use two Joy-Cons in mouse mode, allowing for a dual-mouse control scheme. This exclusive functionality will be available in just one room of the game but promises a distinct treat for Switch 2 owners.
The announcement came during Nintendo’s April 2 Switch 2 Direct, where it was revealed that Deltarune Chapters 3 and 4 will launch on June 5, alongside the new console. While the game will also be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC, the special Joy-Con control feature will be limited to the Switch 2 version.
Toby Fox, the solo developer of Deltarune, confirmed in a Fangamer newsletter that the dual-mouse control room will be exclusive to the Switch 2. While this room will appear in other versions of the game, the control scheme will be different. The feature was hinted at in the Switch 2 Direct trailer, where players can spot a brief segment showcasing the dual-mouse functionality.
The mouse controls, along with other new features like magnetic attachment points and larger buttons on the Joy-Con 2, have generated a lot of buzz. This innovation could open up new possibilities for game design on the Switch 2 and even make it easier to port PC games to the new console.
