Elden Ring Nightreign Reveals New Playable Character: Duchess
A new trailer for *Elden Ring Nightreign* has introduced Duchess, one of the game’s eight playable characters. Duchess is showcased as a fast-paced, dexterity-based character equipped with a dagger, offering a glass cannon playstyle. In the trailer, her abilities include the Restage skill, which deals recent damage back to enemies, and Finale, which cloaks her and nearby allies, allowing for stealthy escapes or ambushes.
*Elden Ring Nightreign* is a PvE co-op spinoff of FromSoftware’s 2022 hit *Elden Ring*, set in a procedurally generated alternate version of Limgrave called Limveld. Players will level up over three in-game days and nights, building toward a final boss fight at the end of day three.
Unlike the original *Elden Ring*, *Nightreign* does not feature a character creator, and its eight playable characters are predetermined. So far, FromSoftware has revealed five of these characters, including the all-arounder Wylder, the falcon-like Guardian, mage Recluse, and archer Ironeye.
In the trailer, Duchess is also seen wielding a large sword, hinting that players may be able to customize her build with heavier weapons. With three characters still yet to be revealed, fans can look forward to more updates as *Elden Ring Nightreign*’s May 30 release date approaches.
