Ubisoft Reportedly Developing New Battle Royale Game Inspired by Apex Legends
Ubisoft is reportedly working on a new battle royale game, codenamed “Project Scout,” which is heavily inspired by *Apex Legends*. According to Insider Gaming, the game has been in development for at least two years and aims to compete in the crowded battle royale space, drawing influence from *Apex Legends*’ gameplay, especially its hero-based mechanics and emphasis on movement.
The report suggests that *Project Scout* will feature a roster of characters resembling popular *Apex Legends* heroes, such as Wraith, Lifeline, and Pathfinder. Like these characters, *Project Scout* could focus heavily on movement and agility, incorporating abilities like portals and grappling hooks.
Although many battle royale games are seeing a decline in popularity, Ubisoft seems confident in the potential for another hero-based title. However, no footage, release window, or platforms have been confirmed at this stage.
With *Apex Legends* and other big players dominating the genre, it remains to be seen if *Project Scout* can make its mark once it releases.
