STALKER 2 Patch 1.4 Brings Major AI, Combat, and Bug Fixes in May Update

GSC Game World has released a major new update for STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl, delivering a wide range of improvements and fixes as part of Patch 1.4. The update went live in May 2025 and addresses key gameplay issues, including AI behaviour, mutant mechanics, quest fixes, and technical enhancements.

Launched in November 2024, STALKER 2 is the first entry in the series since 2009’s Call of Pripyat. Set in a post-apocalyptic Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, the game blends survival horror with first-person shooting and has seen steady post-launch support.

Key Patch 1.4 Highlights:

  • Improved AI and combat behavior
  • Enhanced mutant behavior, including corpse-eating animations and alert states
  • Fixes to main and side missions, including “The Lost Boys” and “The Boundary”
  • Bug fixes related to props, like sausage shooting and duck animations
  • Balance changes and performance improvements
  • Updates to open-world encounters and technical systems

GSC Game World also shared progress on their Q2 roadmap, which includes expanded mod support, widescreen aspect ratio, more mutant loot, new weapons, and continued optimization. While fans welcomed the update, many are still calling for a PlayStation 5 port, which has yet to be announced.

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl continues to evolve, with GSC committed to refining gameplay and delivering new content throughout 2025.
