Genshin Impact Getting Visual Novel-Style Browser-Based Event

For the past week, Chinese players have enjoyed a unique occasion for miHoYo’s multiplatform role-playing title Genshin Effect. Launched on November 2 and running through November 10, the Stone Harbor Treasure Journal event is unique. It can only be played in web browsers, and the narrative is presented in a visual novel-esque chibi style.

When the event launched in China, miHoYo simultaneously announced on Twitter that Stone Harbor Treasure Journal would probably be coming to the US. However, the specific date and time weren’t shown. It seems somewhat probable that the internet event may launch on November 11, the day after it ends in China.

Stone Harbor Treasure Journal stars two of the new characters, Zhongli and Childe, that will be added to the match in Genshin Impact’s Update 1.1, “A New Star Approaches,” which launches on November 11. The text-based adventure sends players on a range of little tasks around the pier and town of Liyue and will result in a total benefit of 200 Primogems and 50,000 Mora at the end of the event.

Players can select Zhongli or Childe to aid in the daily tasks, and the character chosen will impact the way the story unfolds. Rewards, however, will remain the same. Players will only receive one job effort per day during the Stone Harbor Treasure Journal occasion, but completing particular tasks could open up three additional job efforts.

Stone Harbor Treasure Journal does not only contain running around mindlessly finishing small jobs for Liyue inhabitants. The event also includes a negative story, which is not canon to occasions in Genshin Impact’s main narrative but serves mainly as an entertaining divergence and provides a little fan support to players.

One possible difficulty, as mentioned by Chinese players participating in the Genshin Impact occasion, is that PS4 gamers could be left out in the cold. Before, when miHoYo has spread promo codes as bonuses to be used in-the in the codes haven’t worked on the PS4. After completing all Stone Harbor Treasure Journal occasion jobs, players have said that they have obtained a code to redeem for their rewards, and this doesn’t bode well for PS4 players.

Hopefully, miHoYo is employed to remedy this circumstance, which leaves a large part of its player base unable to fully participate in special events such as Stone Harbor Treasure Journal or reap the advantages. One possible solution to this would be to allow PS4 players to launch the web browser from within the sport since it does with the Genshin Impact player polls occasionally sent out through in-game mail. This procedure allows PS4 players that participate in the polls to be properly compensated.
