All things, from Zelda’s fate to Link’s identity, are up for discussion at a time Nintendo doesn’t even want to disclose the facts.Breath of WildFear of spoiling the details, sequel’s title

Fans are left to speculate. The Zelda community would like to know more about the Breath Of the Wild subseries and how Zelda lore is connected. Many fans would like to know whether the Master Sword is a key part of the game. Breath of the Wild’s weapon system is very different from series tradition. This makes it unclear what Link’s signature weapon will be. But, it could play another role. Many fans believe Breath of the Wild 2 may have something to do Skyward Sword. This could mean that Fi will reemerge in the Master Sword to help guide Link. Fi’s return from the Master Sword would be a blessing if Demise’s rumors are true.

Fi could reemerge from Master Sword

Most Zelda games involving the Master Sword have a key plot point where Link learns more about the sword and must retrieve it in order to progress. It almost never leaves Link’s side from that point. Breath to the Wildwould not have treated the Master Sword any other way. Breath of the Wild‘s Link discovers the sword in the forest and then learns that he can grab the sword once he has enough Hearts. This is a less formal role for the Master Sword. While the Breath of the Wild DLC was focused on tempering the Master Sword it still remains a minor part of the overall game.

Breath of the Wild 2 may be able to change that. The odds are high that it will, especially if BOTW 2 is connected to Skyward Sword. __S.71__ Nintendo even gave the Master Sword a personality, in the shape of Fi, to emphasize its importance. Fi is thrown into the Master Sword by Skyward Sword’s end. However, Nintendo can revive Fi to change the course of Breath of the Wild 2. Especially if Demise is involved in BOTW 2’s events.

Many believe that the demon-king Demise, Skyward Sword’s ultimate antagonist, and the demonic ancestral of Ganon, will be back in his true form in Breath of the Wild 2 according to many fans. __S.75__ Fi was present for the entire battle against Demise. It would make sense that she should reappear to aid Zelda and Link. Breath of the Wild even reinstates the goddess Hylia as an important divine figure. Hylia, her creator, could bring Fi back to life and tap into her knowledge in order to win the new war against Demise.

Fi could truly embody the Master Sword

Breath of the Wild 2 will almost certainly continue to use Breath of the Wild 2’s weapon inventory. This gives Link a wide range of weapons. This would mean that he won’t be carrying the Master Sword as much, but there are still ways to make Fi and the sword important. For example, maybe the Master Sword’s power gets dampened by the power of Demise. Although it might not be useful to Link, Fi could still emerge and protect the Master Sword until Link can remove Demise’s influence. Then, Link will eventually wield the Master Sword in BREATH of the Wild 2.

Another interesting option for the Master Sword is offered by Ghirahim, the demon lord. Ghirahim, who is a Sword Spirit like Fi, transforms into Demise’s sword at the end of Skyward Sword. Perhaps the Master Sword will also transform into Fi, keeping the Master Sword safe and containing all its power within one person. This would allow Fi to travel with Link, fight alongside him and keep the Master Sword safe until it is needed.

Breath of Wild foretells Fi’s Return

The most significant evidence Fi might be back in Breath Of the Wild 2 is that she appears to have made minor appearances in the original game. __S.103__ Additionally, when Link perfects the Master Sword through the Trial of the Sword, players hear one of Fi’s sound effects emerge from the blade. These references to Fi indicate that Nintendo would like to use her again. These hints about Fi’s awakening suggest she could make a real reappearance at Breath Of The Wild 2.

A crossover between Skyward Sword 2 and Breath of Wild 2 would be a great twist to The Legend of Zelda’s timeline. __S.108__ The possibility of connecting the two games would indicate that there is a cataclysmic event in the future, possibly redefining The Legend of Zelda forever. Although nothing is certain, Breath the Wild 2 may prove to be worth the wait. The Legend of Zelda would be a much more exciting place if Fi and the other Skyward Sword characters return.
