April O’Neil will kick ass in the new Ninja Turtles beat-’em-up.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, the new retro beat-’em-up inspired by the classic Konami arcade games, will of course feature Leonardo, Raphael, Michelangelo, and Donatello on its playable roster. Developer Tribute Games and publisher Dotemu announced Wednesday at Gamescom 2021 that April O’Neil, an intrepid reporter, will also participate in Shredder’s Revenge.
April will use her television camera and microphone as deadly weapons against Foot soldiers. However, she is also a skilled hand-to-hand martial artist. Some of April’s moves are inspired by female street fighters like Chun-li’s tenshokyaku rising aerial kick, R. Mika’s flying peach, and Karin’s green ken strikes combo. Dotemu stated in an official description that April’s agility and range of slide kicks allow her to close in on targets quickly and that she has once again proven the turtles can count on her support, even though she eats slices of pizza.
