Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Should Add More Ways to Traverse Hyrule
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the WildIt was a groundbreaking title for Nintendo. The game was based on Ubisoft’s open-world concept and gave Link unprecedented access to all surfaces in Hyrule. Players could view as much or little as they liked of the story and map. They could also take Link straight to Hyrule Castle to fight Ganon. Great Plateau tutorial area. However, Breath of the Wild 2You could go one step further.
E3 2021’s gameplay trailer for Breath of the Wild 2 gave fans a glimpse at the sequel. It draws inspiration from Skyward Sword by lifting large chunks of land in the air, so Link can either fall onto them or move through them. This game’s map of Hyrule is changing, and Nintendo has the opportunity to expand Link’s abilities so that he feels freer. Some key areas can be improved based on the original game and other open-world titles.
Since The Legend of Zelda broke into 3D on Nintendo 64, Link’s faithful steed Epona has been an integral part of The Legend of Zelda. This made it possible for him to cross Hyrule Field using various iterations and participate in equestrian minigames. Breath of the Wild did not feature Epona (though she could be summoned using an amiibo), but horseback riding took on a larger role overall.
You can choose to ride any horse you come across by jumping on their backs or soothing their fears. These horses can then be registered at one of the many Stables across Hyrule, allowing players to consistently call upon their steeds to cross the massive open world. You can register multiple horses to get better stats. Players can also groom their horses, give them new saddles and manes when they find their best friend.
Link can still ride other animals than horses, including deer and bears, as well as skeletal Stalhorses or the legendary Lord of the Mountain. Despite the possibility of similar customization, none of these beasts is allowed to be registered at Stables. Breath of the Wild 2 is also likely to put a bigger focus on flight thanks to its new floating islands, meaning the idea of collecting and customizing animals may further extend to creatures like Loftwings.
Cannons
Nintendo has a rich and varied history of including cannons in many franchises. Both 2D & 3DSuper Mario games use cannons. Super Mario 64The pipes are what launch the player into the new Super Mario Bros.Series.Kirby games have a recurring puzzle that involves lighting a fuse using copy abilities and jumping in a cannon for access to a new area. Rare Donkey Kong Country seriesRetro Studios’ follow-ups are also filled to the brim full of barrel cannons.
