The Bayonetta 3 Voice Actor has Changed and She Could Not Be Our Bayonetta
The Nintendo Direct September saw the famous witch’s return. I was surprised to see Bayonetta3 appear at the last minute, even with a new voice actor. The witch leapt in and used her wicked weave against an unfamiliar opponent before gracefully dancing the trailer while Gomorrah tore the foe to shreds. She returned in the Bayonetta manner possible. Or should I say Cereza?
When I first saw the trailer, I noticed immediately that the voice actor was not the same as the one we are used to. She seems a bit younger and even more playful. She also seems to be more playful than she was in previous games. This aspect seems to have diminished, from her fighting style to her attire. This begs the question. Platinum Games has decided to alter the Bayonetta3 voice actor and change her character a bit.
Which Witch?
Avid fans will be familiar with Cereza, a younger version the title character from the original Bayonetta. We return the little girl back to her original timeline after our journey together. Everything is back to normal. Cereza, however, is now a strong, unstoppable force who fights for her mother Rosa. This causes a split in timelines. Our Bayonetta, who was kept at the bottom for 500 years, and our brave Cereza who was never sealed up and activated left eye of dark.
It has been too long, it’s been too short
The trailer’s character seems to be a grown-up Cereza, from her red ribbons and pigtails to her personality. To emphasize the differences between her character and our umbra witch, it would be logical to give her a different voice actor for Bayonetta3. Hellena Taylor, who was the original voice actor for Bayonetta’s Bayonetta, suggested that we might have to adjust to her character being portrayed by someone else. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean that she is referring to the character we love and know, given the existence of multiple timelines, time jumps and cycles.
