“Futurama”: Bender Voice Actor explains Why He’s Not Back for Revival
Futuramastar John DiMaggio explained why he is not expected to participate in the Hulu revival.
It was revealed earlier this week that original creators David X. Cohen and Matt Groening had signed up to a 20-episode Futuramarevival that will reunite the majority of the original cast. Fans quickly noticed that John DiMaggio, Bender Bending Rodriguez’s beloved robot, was not mentioned.
According to reports, producers of the show are hopeful that DiMaggio will be back, but they also plan to continue with the series and cast Bender if he does not. Fans who believe DiMaggio is inseparable from Bender didn’t like this. They are, however, inseparable.
DiMaggio expressed his gratitude to fans via tweets and promised to keep everyone informed about the situation. He also retweeted Entertainment Weekly’s article explaining that he thought Hulu’s original offer was “lowball”. DiMaggio is aware of how important he is for the fans and the legacy of Futurama and is looking for a better deal. He deserves more power.
“Thanks everyone for your concern and the props. The actor said that he really appreciated it. “I’ll keep you updated, but for now, I will CHEESE IT!” #bendergate”.
DiMaggio’s involvement is still lingering, but fans can expect to see Billy West, Professor Farnsworth and Katey Sagal (Leela) return along with other series mainstays TressMacNeille, Maurice LaMarche and Lauren Tom, Phil LaMarr and David Herman…
