Call of Duty: Skipping a Year for the First Time in Two Decades

Bloomberg reports that Activision plans to launch a new free-to-play online title for next year. It is almost certain Warzone2.
Infinity Ward is reportedly developing the new battle royale. It will include a “sandbox” mode. According to the report, Modern Warfare II will receive an additional year of post-launch content. Call Of Duty fans won’t be hungry in 2023.
Activision has since replied to Bloomberg’s report, stating that it doesn’t actuallycontradict any of the information that was shared.
The publisher stated that they have a variety of Call of Duty experiences, both premium and free-to play, for this year, next and beyond. Reports claiming anything else are false. We are eager to share more information when it is convenient.
Bloomberg sources claim that Call Of Duty 2023 was delayed due to the disappointing sales of Call Of Duty. Rumours have also suggested that this was why Infinity Ward’s latest game was announced earlier than normal.
This could be a good thing for Call of Duty, regardless of the circumstances. Recent reports indicate that Activision has been urging the publisher to abandon the annual release schedule for a while.
