Amazon Prime Gets ‘God Of War” Live-Action Series, Says, Insider
Amazon and PlayStation are looking to collaborate on a God of War TV adaptation. According to a report, Prime Video has reportedly begun negotiations to create a live-action series that will focus on the adventures of Kratos.
Deadline reports that its sources have informed that plans are in place for The Expanse creators Mark Fergus, Hawk Ostby, and Rafe Judkins, executive showrunner at The Wheel of Time to develop the God Of War TV Series. PlayStation Producers will also produce. This is the dedicated TV movie arm of PlayStation, established in 2019.
The number of movies and TV films based on PlayStation properties has increased significantly since the creation of PlayStation Studios. Tom Holland’s Uncharted film was finally released last month. But it’s just the beginning of many more.
HBO and Naughty Dog are working together on The Last Of Us’ adaptation. A Twisted Metal TV series is in the works, while a Ghost Of Tsushima film was confirmed last year.
This would not be Amazon Studio’s first videogame project. The studio is currently casting for the FalloutTV series. A Mass Effect show has also been confirmed. Although video game adaptations have been criticized for their inefficiency, the sheer number of live-action projects that are coming our way over the next few years suggests that at least some of them will be worthwhile.
