An announcement has been made about a new Borderlands Tales Game
Although it feels like Telltale has had more sequels since Telltale closed, there have still been Telltale games. My heart flutters a bit with this one.
A sequel to the seminal Tales From the Borderlands was announced at the Gearbox panel at PAX East. More details will be revealed later. Telltale’s original Tales From the Borderlands game is my favorite. It transforms the Borderlands universe into a space that can tell interesting stories and has great characters. It’s exciting to think about a new game featuring these characters.
Telltale is gone. The gearbox is currently developing the new game internally. While they have not yet said whether there are any writers from the original, my eyebrows start to twitch a bit at the thought of a new title without the original creators. Although it’s not a guarantee, trusting the Borderlands writers to create a good series since it was so actively all Borderlands felt like a big ask.
We’ll see. Borderlands 3 had several Tales From the Borderlands characters and they kind of mangled all of them from a writing perspective. Possibly. Hopefully. I will continue to sit in the corner, my knees crossed over my chest, and rock back and forth, hoping for the best.
