Ubisoft Shuts down Classic Assassin’s Creed & Rainbow Six Servers
Do you long to get back into a Ubisoft classic like Shaun White Snowboarding or Assassin’s Creed 2?
Unfortunately, you will only be able to play offline as Ubisoft has closed down online multiplayer for several older games on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.
The complete list was made available via a posting on Ubisoft’s website. It includes a full listing of all titles affected by the shutdown. You will be familiar with some of these titles, while others are more obscure.

The list is particularly relevant for those who spent countless hours playing on the PS3 or Xbox 360, or PC during their peak, although some games were affected that fall outside this period.
Rainbow Six Lockdown is one example. It was released on the Nintendo Gamecube and PS2 and is still available on the original Xbox. Just Dance 2015 is also included.
The list also includes WiiU and WiiU titles and some From the Now-Defunct Streaming Service OnLive. These should have been shut down sooner since OnLive was stopped in 2015.
Practically, the effects will be a few other small changes for players. In-game news and player statistics will be disabled. Units and challenges in games that used Ubisoft connect will also be affected.
Connect games will allow you to unlock some rewards but not be able to receive them in-game.
However, Ubisoft Connect will offer a different experience for games that haven’t been transferred from the Uplay system to Ubisoft Connect. All rewards will be automatically unlocked upon startup.
