Are you looking for more information about Skyrim publisher Bethesda? Today is your lucky day.

Bethesda just released a glimpse of what Starfield will sound and look like as part of a multi-part YouTube series called Into the Starfield. This series has already discussed how the game fits into the studio’s future vision and what players can do in it.

Considering the importance of soundtracks in past Bethesda games, this is quite a big revelation. These include the orchestral fantasy harmonies from The Elder Scrolls and Fallout’s jazz tunes.

You can view the full video below. It features a conversation between Mark Lampert, Bethesda Game Studios’ audio director, and Inon Zur (Starfield composer), who start by explaining how important music is to a game’s eventual release as well as setting the tone for its development.

Both agree that creating a game’s main themes is the most difficult part of the audio. Lampert said: “I relax a lot when we feel good about it because the rest will be, it’ll take work in an iteration, but it’ll write itself.”

Zur revealed that Starfield is his particular focus. He wants a slightly circular sound design to signify the players’ journeys.

Zur speaks out about the use of woodwind instruments in communicating the idea that particles are present in space. This is combined with string and brass instruments to create an organic and synthetic soundtrack.

Lampert says that he will integrate music into the game’s sound design. He said: “I’ll accept any music and make it ambiance somewhere.” This.”ould allow the music to be a “companion” to the player.

He also discusses how it is dacking a game set in space that onis different from a fixed planet.

Zur ends the video by saying, “My wish is that specifically music will be present in such a way as to magnify this entire experience.”

Starfield’s music can be heard throughout the video. It conveys a sense of wonder and scale, but a few snippets are also heard.
