The Winter AAA Game Slate might be more interesting than you think
Thanks for the Knowledge is recorded every Friday, with very few exceptions. This week’s episode was a little wild and woolly due to the shameful reverse of Roe V Wade. It was nice to have the opportunity to chat with Imran Khan and Jeff Grubb about another topic for just a few minutes. I wanted to talk with them about some of the most notable games this month, as well as Winter’s strange AAA releases.
You can also listen on Spotify, or wherever else you get your podcasts.
One game that was brought up was God of War Ragnarok. Its absence from this month’s showcases is extremely noticeable. Could we possibly see something from Sony Santa Monica before July rolls around? This game is going to be released in November. We speculate a little and cut it up about Xenoblade Chronicles3, Final Fantasy XVI.
This week’s Show will cover topics
- This page will allow you to donate to 92 abortion funds
- Xenoblade Chronicles 3 details
- Final Fantasy XVI is going to feature huge monster battles
- Final Fantasy XVI is open-zone, but not open-world
- Michael Jackson may have done Sonic 3’s music after
- Sony studios support abortion rights and provide access
Transcript from my conversation with Imran & Jeff
John: The summer of 2022 may be technically over, but there are still new bits of information we can all talk about. Today’s show features two very special guests. The first is Ron con’s news editor. Hello, the other is a fan bite network first-timer.
We are very, very happy to have him from the giant bomb. It’s Jeff Grubb.
Jeff: Imran, I’m coming to you. I will get my title back.
Imran I mean to be fair. You are number three. You will need to pass number two in order to reach me.
Jeff: It didn’t take him long to do so. He popped out of nowhere and came out right away. I was doing all the work, and he was just as comfortable on the mat. (John and Imran giggle)
Then you hit me out of nowhere. You know what?
John: we must, yes, we have, to discuss the elephant in our room. To be the number one games journalist, Imran defeated Andy Cortez, and Jeff Grubb, in a triple-threat match.
Jeff So what’s the record, Imran? One in four or one in five?
Yes, that was it. I am pretty certain, however, that it was the first match.
John, I was watching KFW. I have watched I think I have seen about 60%, but I have definitely seen a hundred percent that Imran has, have been watching. Sure. Yes.
Right. I kept saying that Imran is getting the dog shit out of him every week.
Jeff: It’s like they set his, or his stats incorrectly. That’s all I asked. That’s what I thought.
John: Imran was just asking if they don’t like to change your stats to shit. It seems that way. But the short king won the victory.
I’m I, I’m, very, I am, I love having the trophy in my trophy case. It’s great.
Imran I’m doing a Brock Lesner thing, where I get the title, and then I just stop wrestling ever again. (John laughs)
Jeff: Here you go. Yeah. You just need to show it for the pay view. You can only do it once per year.
John: Yeah. These are yours. Eight dates per year, $500,000 per date, or whatever you want.
John: Ah, well, Jeff, I want to start with you. It’s kinda like. You know, the stuff of life. You know what? I was one of the core nine at the giant bomb. First of all, I love the work you guys are doing over there. It’s been a great refresh and revamps. Jan and his crew have been incredible, but it’s been wonderful to see how it’s all going.
Jeff: It is going really well. It’s the type of thing that even I enjoyed, so it’s a great deal. It’s something I love, and even though I am a fan, it was always like a rock band. Maybe the guitarist gets replaced once in a while. Right. However, you are still part of a core band.
Then, as this was going on very quickly, Imran or sorry Jan mentioned to me that they were thinking about a sports franchise. However, the spirit of the franchise can remain the same. We want to be a winning franchise. This actually makes sense to me when you explain it to me.
But that doesn’t mean people shouldn’t feel sad because their favorite player is gone. Uh, right. Yes, I understand that. But, we will do our best to get that ring. And, try to make content people feel good about. That’s the side that I believe is most important.
We were almost like running into this thing that said, “We want to do so much.” There are so many possibilities. There is so much energy. These things are what everyone wanted and wants. We are now in the position of recording two to three things at once and uploading a lot of content within a single day.
It’s really, um, been a pleasant, very nice, and kind reaction. It’s difficult to recall a 180 online from Jeff Gman leaving Monday to the announcement of this stuff on Tuesday. Yeah. Uh, I believe people have been able to assess the situation since then. This feels like it was the right thing for everyone. Jeff is doing his solo stuff. That’s what I’ve been following. Patreon is my subscription. It’s a great thing. He’s in his element. It seems like the next Lander guys are already proving themselves to be, uh., this works for them. The question was always going to be about us over a huge bomb.
We put out some great stuff, I think, really quickly. While we will continue to cover some non-gaming topics, there will be plenty of gaming content and we’ll make it as fun as possible.
It’s worked well so far. We may be in honeymoon mode, but I think we can keep this going for quite some time.
John: Yeah. I’m sorry, but I believe so far it has been great. You’ve been through a lot of honest, sincere, to God, great experiences. Graphic design type overhauls
