GTA 6 Online boasts an enhanced Liberty City map, according to sources within GTA Online.
Rockstar Games has stated their desire for Grand Theft Auto VI is to attain “perfection”, with each iteration growing ever larger, although one insider claims Rockstar have plans in the works for remastering Liberty City.
Grand Theft Auto IV released in 2008 featured Liberty City as its setting, yet since then we’ve only ever glimpsed glimpses of it through various references or appearances in other games. Now however, Markothemexican, an influential Grand Theft Auto leaker has reported that Rockstar are planning on returning it as part of an upcoming update for GTA Online; an ex-Rockstar employee was apparently used for information regarding this move and also claimed this upcoming update will mark Xbox X/S and PS5 updates will continue as usual on these current-gen platforms such as these new platforms despite future updates taking place for these platforms like PC.
Liberty City Heist will bring back players to its setting, with players having the goal of raiding gold reserves throughout Liberty City. While all this should be taken with a grain of salt, given how Cayo Perico Heist update took place on an entirely different island location it wouldn’t be far-fetched to believe that an updated Liberty City could come soon enough.
The leaker also validated reports that Grand Theft Auto VI will take place in Vice City – something we haven’t seen since Grand Theft Auto: Vice City was released back in 2002 as its own standalone title. There has been widespread speculation regarding Vice City’s appearance; many believe it could become either one of GTA VI’s primary locations, or perhaps just visitable later on during gameplay – an idea likely to delight fans who fondly remember its soundtrack from those titles.
As there’s still so little known about Grand Theft Auto VI, all we have are rumours and speculation until Rockstar releases official information. According to insiders, Grand Theft Auto VI could become one of the largest games ever with unique gameplay elements that add new dimensions – not forgetting multiple locations where players can cause havoc!
