With Diablo 4 arriving for early access last night and set for full release on June 6, many fans eagerly anticipated diving back into Hell to start killing enemies and unleash their ultimate destruction on any foe who dare challenge them. Yesterday proved no different; with thousands eagerly counting down until their chance arrived.

While many took this time to read up on reviews or plan out which class and build they wanted for their initial playthrough or bring friends along on their adventures, not all got to put this preparation into action as soon as the game launched its doors.

Kotaku reported that hundreds of players trying to launch Blizzard’s latest title, Overwatch, encountered launch error messages which reported they couldn’t locate an “activate licence.”

Have you encountered any error messages while trying to register with Diablo 4’s early access?
As seen in the tweet below, an error with reference code 315306 rendered many PlayStation and Xbox players who’d purchased more expensive Digital Deluxe or Ultimate Editions – part of which included early access – unable to participate during early access period.

Blizzard quickly identified and resolved this problem on other platforms, like PC.

Players quickly began uncovering potential solutions, with some noting that making an in-game currency purchase through the game’s store or downloading any free game, including ones included with PlayStation Plus subscriptions, could grant access to Diablo 4.

Diablo and Blizzard Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher issued an update post to its forums regarding licensing errors: “Our teams and partners have worked to help mitigate this issue; however if it persists please provide as much detail about its cause as possible so we may address it together with them.

However, as of writing some players are still suffering from this problem with recent forum discussion regarding it showing both those unable to gain entry and those who’ve managed to successfully gain entrance.
