Oh Lordy, today marks my 24 year waiting–Croc HD is finally in development according to Jez San, Argonaut founder. Today marks an awesome momentous achievement!

Croc: The Legend of Gobbos holds special memories for me and many other fans; every time the music plays I experience overwhelming nostalgia. Do you recall the opening scene with its rainbow above Gobbo Valley and baby Croc arriving, kidnapping of King Rufus by Beany Bird… Just close your eyes and imagine hearing crystal orb chimes or the crash of Beany Bird gong crash into each other; now is surely all those memories coming flooding back… Unfortunately Croc has long remained out of reach to most fans over time but that may change soon enough – we hope!

Yes, Croc HD is officially in development! It all began when Time Extension published an article about Croc, who they labeled a ‘3D platforming’s unsung hero’, earlier this week. James Batchelor published and tweeted his article as part of campaign for Croc remaster:

Well it seems the campaign may not have been necessary after all. Argonaut Software founder Jez San responded on twitter saying, “I have some news but it may be premature for an announcement just yet; A Croc HD has entered early development.” So there it was: confirmation.

What makes Jez’s statement even more fascinating is his use of “Croc HD”. One could assume this refers to either an HD remaster, remake, or simply new instalments featuring HD resolution – and I couldn’t be more excited! Welcome back Croc!
