Resident Evil 9 will feature Chris Redfield back as its star player, according to sources close to the situation.
What lies in store for Resident Evil? Since Capcom released their remake of Resident Evil 4 earlier this year, there’s been nothing definitive announced regarding Resident Evil as an iconic horror franchise.
However, that could soon change according to industry insider @MarxxChris on Twitter: Resident Evil 9 will feature Chris Redfield again and may put you behind bars! So watch out, boulders!
“RE9 will primarily revolve around Chris Redfield with other classic characters potentially appearing,” @MarxxChris posted last month on his twitter handle. However, I believe Ethan Winters story arc may have come to an end or at least temporarily reached completion in RE9.
This month, an insider added to this speculation and named several of the classic characters who will allegedly feature in this release: Claire, Jill Leon and Chris will return in this upcoming Resident Evil title with special missions allowing players to choose other character options than Claire Jill Leon or Chris (protagonist) during certain missions allowing for greater player freedom; it should focus less on horror than action!
@MarxxChris reported the game would remain horror themed and that camera mode details have yet to be finalised, though players could potentially switch between third and first person perspectives when selecting playback options. Release date should likely occur later this year (Capcom should start discussing its release this year).
Insider information suggests that Capcom will soon embark on work on remakes of Code: Veronica and Resident Evil 5 at some point later. Such remakes would certainly prove popular among fans; but until confirmed officially it should be treated with caution.
