Star Wars, set against an expansive, ever-evolving universe, offers ample scope for exploration. No movie franchise matches its wide expanse better.

Even though previous games in this franchise offered open world/galaxy(ish) exploration like Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor and LEGO Star Wars The Skywalker Saga offered some degree of exploration; these titles may still hold significance compared to what lies in store with Outlaws – however.

Though Star Wars Outlaws had an impressive showing at Ubisoft Forward event, we must remain cautious not to get carried away too easily. While knowing it will be open-world will provide some certainty as we don’t yet know exactly how large its scale will be.

DualShockers reported that Star Wars Outlaws’ developer has stated that each planet in their game is bigger than Washington D.C. for The Division 2. Given both games are developed by Massive Entertainment studio, this information seems reliable; confirmed even further by Mathias Karlson from Star Wars Outlaws game director team.

At this stage, however, it should be remembered that Star Wars Outlaws won’t feature every planet known to man; some (though not all) may be procedurally generated and customisation for spaceships, speeder bikes and blaster pistols will be possible! Karlson confirmed as much.

According to reports, Star Wars Outlaws fans are threatening a boycott due to women existing. Meanwhile, it seems a once dead and buried cancelled Star Wars game may be revived; at least some fans believe so.

Star Wars Outlaws will be made available for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S sometime during 2024.
