Prime Gaming users now have an exciting chance to get a critically acclaimed video game free.
Prey was developed and published by Bethesda Softworks and developed at Arkane Austin – this studio that gave us Dishonored series is also responsible for Redfall which should stay unsaid here.
At its debut, Prey caused some consternation amongst gamers. A video game by Human Head Studios released under this same title was developed and released for sale by 2K Games in 2006. Following Domasi ‘Tommy’ Tawodi who boarded an alien spaceship after his girlfriend had been taken, Prey (2006) proved successful enough for its sequel – Prey 2. Announced in 2011, however, Prey 2 ran into developmental hell soon thereafter before finally being cancelled in 2014.
Bethesda Softworks eventually purchased the Prey IP, leading to Prey (2017) – though this latest installment largely stands alone from those games from before. Although receiving favorable reviews, Prey didn’t sell as intended although still remains an excellent game experience.

Arkane Entertainment revealed in September 2022 that they never intended for Prey to bear that name but were pressured into accepting it by Bethesda.
