Are the Star Wars Outlaws Coming to Game Pass?
At the 2023 Xbox Showcase, viewers got their first look at Ubisoft’s debut into Star Wars with Star Wars Outlaws from Ubisoft Massive Entertainment. Instead of featuring Jedi knights like Anakin Skywalker or Luke Skywalker as protagonists, Outlaws takes an approach more grounded and realistic; replacing Jedi powers with Kay’s cunning and skillfulness instead. Will fans be able to play Outlaws through Game Pass subscription?
While Fallen Order and Outlaws appear fundamentally distinct, one thing Xbox owners will certainly wish for is its release on Game Pass. Although Fallen Order may have not launched directly onto it as part of EA Play, its developers did make arrangements so the title eventually found its way onto this service. Will Outlaws follow in Fallen Order’s footsteps by also featuring as part of EA Play? Or might Ubisoft give its subscribers first look at Kay’s journey across space on day one instead? An announcement regarding Star Wars Outlaws for Game Pass would certainly make headlines, yet its chances seem unlikely. We still have over one year before Outlaws releases and may receive more details then; nonetheless it would likely come through Ubisoft soon enough!
Ubisoft+ members could receive something, like a trial period or free access, from Outlaws in Outlaws; however, Game Pass doesn’t seem likely given Ubisoft’s track record when it comes to release of games on that platform; only some titles like Assassin’s Creed Origins, Far Cry 5, Watch Dogs 2 and Rainbow Six Siege have ever found themselves there thus far.
Star Wars has historically centered on the heroic exploits of rebel forces battling back against an oppressive Galactic Empire, similar to The Mandalorian. Outlaws is taking an approach similar to The Mandalorian; at least initially.
As one of the titular outlaws, players will explore the Outer Rim to pull off an elaborate heist. This open world action-adventure features stealth mechanics as well as vehicular traversal and combat; among its more exciting aspects are space battles!
Outlaws is sure to satisfy fans of Star Wars: Battlefront II who crave epic galactic confrontations through seamless ground-to-space transitions, offering seamless combat when players enter space – engaging enemies or simply jumping out quickly in hyperspace should things turn hostile! If things get dicey too fast then hyperspace offers another exit strategy by simply transporting to another planet!
At Star Wars Outlaws’ 2024 release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X& S consoles we expect to learn much more of its content this year – maybe even getting our Game Pass announcement? Probably not; still you can hope.
