Bungie Celebrates Pride Month With Free Emote
Bungie emphasizes inclusion and diversity as core aspects of all video gaming communities in its latest news post announcing Destiny 2 for PC, making a point to recognize LGBTQIA+ players within Destiny 2.
Bungie acknowledged Pride month is important to its player base and gives its members a way to show it with free Exotic emotes and transmat effects in-game. To express yourself publicly during Pride month, Bungie offers two Exotic options that symbolize progress pride flag TK7-D3P-FDF while R9J-79M-J6C from last year may already exist in your account (head to Code Redemption page for redemption of codes; then visit Master Rahool at Tower for collection).
Visit Bungie’s National Coming Out Day post from last year if you haven’t had the chance yet and take advantage of their offer for a free wallpaper featuring your Destiny 2 favorites!
Players can purchase the Pride 2.0 pin from Bungie Store to obtain an in-game Infinite Prismatic emblem and all proceeds go directly towards It Gets Better Project. Furthermore, developer’s news post discussed Trans@Bungie and Pride@Bungie IDEAs initiatives within its workplace environment.
Destiny 2 showcases Bungie’s commitment to supporting marginalized characters — particularly queer people of color — such as Osiris and Saint-14, Ana Bray and Camrin and recently Maya Sundaresh and Chioma Esi’s relationship from Veil Containment lore. Additionally, Destiny 2 now contains its inaugural non-binary character called Nimbus!
