Marvel’s Spider-Man fans are just now discovering an iconic villain hidden amongst them in Insomniac Games’ first take on Wallcrawler.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will soon be hitting shelves, promising an amazing adventure for Peter Parker and Miles Morales. Not only has its map expanded with new locations and powers like Peter’s new symbiote suit; new powers and abilities like Peter’s cool new suit symbiote suit are being introduced; also expanded villain roster with Kraven The Hunter, The Lizard, Venom likely all making appearances; many fans speculate if other Spidey foes from Spidey’s gallery could make appearance; most specifically focused on bloodthirsty vampire Morbius; many believe he may already been present within Insomniac’s Marvel universe but we didn’t notice until later; Insomniac’s Marvel universe was hiding right under our nose all along!

Peter Parker comes across Dr Morgan Michaels during his search for the Devil’s Breath bio-weapon in the first game, who may or may not be an alias for Dr Michael Morbius as suggested by Twitter user @SpikeDaHedgehog.

Morbius is an antihero/villain of Spider-Man that turned himself into a vampire during an experiment gone awry, which gave him superhuman strength, speed and durability as well as partial flight capabilities with enough wind current. Although Morbius has appeared across various Spider-Man media over time, his rise to internet notoriety came through Jared Leto’s live-action film Morbius which became internet famous due to an abundance of memes associated with it.

At Insomniac Games’ forthcoming Spider-Man 2 game, their plans to bring Morbius back are unknown. While fan favourite villains such as Dr Octopus, Scorpion and Rhino may make brief appearances so far in previous titles from Insomniac, it wouldn’t be unexpected for lesser known ones like Morbius to make brief cameo appearances; especially given Kraven’s apparent quest of tracking down some notable targets found throughout New York; Morbius would fit right in! As Kraven embarked upon his mission of hunting down some notable prey within city borders; what better target than an immortal vampire himself!?

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be exclusively released for PlayStation 5 later this year in October, making full use of its power without making compromises to gameplay or visual quality.
