Warzone fans insist there is no footstep audio in existence.
Utilizing footstep audio as an advantage in Warzone matches is nothing new; players often detect nearby opponents by hearing their boots shuffle around and this feature proves invaluable when trying to locate someone quickly.
As Season 4 Reloaded approaches, players of Call of Duty’s battle royale mode have become discontent over an exploit which allows players to quickly acquire ranked SR ranks without much difficulty. Furthermore, skin selection seems far worse compared to what existed during Warzone 1.
Fans have recently become disgruntled over problems related to footstep audio. A player believes there are no sounds at all when walking on footpaths – making it impossible to detect enemies nearby.
Reddit user Knight-112 illustrates this phenomenon through several examples where an absence of footsteps led them to call off their match prematurely.
Footstep audio does not exist in this game,” and looking at clips it seems difficult to disagree.
Though Infinity Ward and Raven Software have received plenty of requests to address their audio issue, community members don’t believe any progress will ever be made on fixing footstep audio issues in games like Warframe and Black Ops 3. One user claims: “Two games now having this same problem…a multimillion-dollar company just can’t or won’t fix footstep audio. So I gave up waiting.”
Unfortunately, the exact cause of audio cutting out remains a mystery and continues to hamper those joining in on the action. At present though, using optimal Warzone audio settings might provide relief.
Unfortunately, Warzone footstep audio will likely never see a major overhaul; however, smaller changes that ensure clearer footsteps should likely appear in future updates.
