PSA: Xur Is Wearing Wild Hunt Armor in Destiny 2 This Week
Every week in Destiny 2, Xur visits different locations offering Exotic items, legendary weapons, and armor pieces that could add something unique or different. While his armor rolls haven’t been as great lately, they remain useful sources for old armor pieces newer players might not own yet – once acquired these pieces can then be unlocked through transmog to add even more options when unlocking cosmetic options in Destiny 2 for transmog use!
This week, Xur is seen wearing the armor from Season of the Hunt which launched alongside Beyond Light back in November 2020. That season focused on fighting Xivu Arath through hunting down various Wrathborn enemies under his influence; players tracked these victims systematically and killed as necessary. Though somewhat disappointing overall, Season of the Hunt did bring Crow back into Destiny 2 narrative and its seasonal activities were certainly enjoyable!
Wild Hunt seasonal armor sets were always fun to collect – however it was their ornaments that really stole the show! Guardians could accessorize themselves in bones and other trophies for an appearance similar to what one finds in Monster Hunter games. Still, collecting old seasonal sets gives players who missed them out an opportunity to collect what might otherwise have gone uncollected at that time!
Thankfully, this week’s armor offered by Xur boasts some decent stat totals; many pieces feature in the low 60s. Unfortunately, however, most pieces tend to score very highly for Mobility while falling far short when it comes to Resilience — the one stat which remains so crucially important in game.
Other than Wild Hunt armor, Xur’s offerings this week are rather disappointing. His Hawkmoon is truly horrific while Dead Man’s Tale just average. No legendary weapons seem particularly impressive either (although Planck’s Stride can help with Perpetual Motion and One For All); at least Warlocks receive a good roll of Verity’s Brow from Warlocks while Titans receive good dice with Antaeus Wards!
