Modders have made tremendous efforts to ensure Skyrim has kept evolving and expanding since it first was released into the world.

Many players have modified the game by creating custom weapons, spells and quests – even going so far as creating NPCs that dynamically move into abandoned houses in Tamriel or fixing bugs that have plagued gamers for some time now.

SkyClimb, created by modder Sokco816, allows players to toggle headgear visibility in character creator, making hours spent creating avatars feel less pointless, as well as form their own guilds.

Skyrim now features a “true climbing mechanic”, employing techniques seen in modern games to allow realistically climbing onto any surface.

The mod accomplishes this feat by procedurally testing for climbable ledges within reasonable reach from their current location, that the Dragonborn may clamber onto using animations from Everglaid’s ‘EVG Animated Traversal’ system.

So if you approached the veranda hanging over Warmaiden’s in Whiterun and attempted to enter via their entrance, an indicator should appear with blue marking a spot you can reach with jump button.

As with any ambitious undertaking, Sokco816 encourages users to report any teething issues when using his mod so that fixes may be developed more swiftly.

One player recently managed to become trapped in an underwater swimming animation when trying to climb out of some shallow waters.

If the prospect hasn’t put you off, to get SkyClimb working smoothly you will require three different mods from Everglaid: Skyrim Script Extender; Powerofthree’s Papyrus Extender and SkyClimb’s mod from Everglaid (which will enable SkyClimb).
