PlayStation 5 users now benefiting from an update which offers store credit as part of free store credits for use with Sony Store.
An upcoming PlayStation 5 system update will incorporate an innovative system allowing gamers to earn store credit free of charge.
PlayStation 5 owners have long wanted Sony to implement some key features onto the console – custom themes being one example – which we all desperately desire. Sony recently implemented several changes as part of a beta system update which brings with them many long-awaited additions and fixes for our favorite console.
Sony did not discuss one upcoming change that caught many by surprise: integration of PlayStation Stars program onto PS5 system software. As reported by Twistedvoxel, recent PS5 system software updates include privacy options governing who can see your PlayStation Stars level(s).
It appears to confirm that PlayStation Stars, currently accessible only via an app on mobile phones, will now also be accessible from within console itself.
PlayStation Stars, launched last year, offers players an incentive program where rewards can be earned through various activities ranging from earning trophies or tournament victories to simply checking in to play their games.
Most rewards offered through this game are rather meager; you may exchange your hard-earned points for digital collectibles housed within an electronic display case – not exactly wowing rewards!
However, as other PlayStation users have noted, using your points can actually earn you store credit simply for playing games! Granted, not huge discounts come your way this way; nonetheless with enough saved up, significant discounts become possible over time.
Sony will likely implement more features for their console over time as it rolls out additional upgrades and new features, making the Stars integration and PS5 update simpler for many users. They reported trouble tracking points using its “janky ass” app and would welcome anything they can share from them in terms of ease-of-use and usage. Hopefully in coming weeks more features from them may become available!
