Red Dead Redemption 2 for PS5 now officially supports 60 frames per second with this hack, running smoothly at 60fps.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has maintained its popularity despite having been released nearly five years ago, as fans continue to devote many hours playing through Rockstar Games’ narrative masterpiece and enjoying one of the finest-looking open world games ever produced… but something’s missing…

Red Dead Redemption will soon be back for both Nintendo Switch and PS4. Check out this announcement of Red Dead Redemption’s re-release on both platforms for further information.

Red Dead Redemption 2, released years after Grand Theft Auto V but without receiving current-gen console optimisation updates like other major releases like it did, did not see one when released despite many requests to do so by its publisher and publishers alike. As it currently runs as though being played on Xbox One or PlayStation 4, this may not seem detrimental but is certainly holding it back from reaching its true potential.

PC users enjoy seamless 60fps gameplay if their hardware can keep pace, and can improve visual details with some of the latest overhaul mods. Unfortunately console players were left behind – stuck at an insufficient 30fps lock until recently.

Twitter user illusion0002 shared an excellent video showing off an innovative PS5 hack that unlocks framerate to run titles at 60fps – it looks absolutely fantastic.

Fans were generally pleased with the quality, although some became disappointed that Rockstar Games has yet to issue an update, leading many players to assume the PC version is the ideal way of experiencing it.

“That is why I made the switch from PlayStation 5 to PC version and immediately noticed a significant improvement”

“That looks really smooth!” One might be inclined to suggest: ‘if it were so simple why don’t they just patch??”

Rockstar may yet release an update for their console that brings it up to modern console standards; but that seems highly unlikely given recent events involving Red Dead Redemption Remaster being announced only for Nintendo Switch and PS4, further dissatisfying fans of Red Dead Redemption Remastered.
