EA plans on shutting down several servers hosting some of its older games such as Dead Space 2, Crysis 3, and Dantes Inferno shortly.

Given EA’s history of shuttering servers, this should come as no shock; for instance, several Battlefield games will soon lose multiplayer modes later this year, most notably 1943, Bad Company 2, and Bad Company 2. Lossing these beloved experiences would be devastating and should come with condolences from gamers everywhere.

Many will likely be disappointed to learn of server retirements; but don’t despair just yet – they remain active until at least mid-July so there will be time for you to say your farewells before they close up shop for good.

Crysis 3 will be shutting down on September 7th; Dead Space 2 and Dante’s Inferno servers are then scheduled to end service together on December 8th, all three servers being terminated simultaneously.

Although EA has yet to announce this development publicly, all three games will cease operations by 2024.

Dead Space 2 will undoubtedly be missed most by fans, particularly its unique multiplayer component. While most Dead Space games focus on single player play, Dead Space 2 stood out with its innovative four player co-op mode where teams of four compete against one another as humans or necromorphs to complete objectives while fighting to remain alive in an intense struggle to survive.

While we will certainly miss multiplayer mode in Dead Space 2, there’s always hope it may return with fresh paint in a remake version of Dead Space 2.

Crysis 3’s online modes, an outstanding classic FPS that featured team deathmatch/objective-based multiplayer action. Unfortunately, when servers go offline in December they’ll no longer exist as such multiplayer elements were cut from its remastered edition of Crysis 3.

No one lasts forever, so let us cherish every memory when our favorite servers finally close down. However, you still have time to join in if this game was new to you or simply wish to revisit past days before we reach their conclusion.
