PlayStation Plus free games for September will become available online early next month.
These days it seems nothing remains secret long enough, particularly if it involves video games. Rumors abound about what PlayStation Plus titles might arrive this September already having leaked out – much to people’s disbelief and surprise!
Gematsu reports that Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny and Tekken 6 may soon make their debuts on PlayStation Plus Classic; we should note this is only tentative as no official announcements have yet been made regarding their appearance on PS Classic.
Evidence would point towards their release; The Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee recently certified both titles.
Said ratings apply to PS 5 and 4, leading one to suspect they were updated so PlayStation Classic conversions of certain titles can be included as PlayStation Plus Premium content. Indeed, similar ratings had taken place prior to these titles being confirmed as coming to PlayStation Classics.
Recent additions to PS Classics also include some iconic PSP titles like MediEvil: Resurrection and Ape Escape: On the Loose. PlayStation is giving much needed love to these landmark titles on portable, and none more so than Tekken 6 and Soulcalibur: Broken Destiny which were given much-deserved treatment during this remaster.
Released between 2007 and 2009, both titles continued to please their devoted fandoms with arcade-style fighting mechanics that proved both engaging and satisfying for players of any experience level. By ramping up damage inflicted and offering loose narrative threads that kept fans coming back without overwhelming themselves too much, fans could play these games whenever time permitted without overexertion themselves.
As PS Plus will soon be losing some of its best titles in September, adding classic games like Tekken and Soulcalibur would certainly soften the blow.
As it stands now, dear reader, we remain optimistic, but all signs point towards Sony delivering something fantastic – whether or not that be these two games themselves but other equally desirable titles that could soon arrive here on PlayStation platforms.
On 19 September, PlayStation Plus subscribers will experience its next update that removes various titles – Chicory and Watch Dogs 2 among them – including several that had previously been included as free trials.
