Red Dead Redemption just received an upgrade with massive enhancements and features.
Red Dead Redemption’s port may not have met with great approval, but even with all its flaws it cannot be denied that this version represents an upgrade since its first launch 13 years ago.
Any positive assessment of this game seems divisive and would bring on an angry mob response. Prior to its port release, fans had expressed displeasure with its cost – currently set at $49.99 (though we have been assured it is “commercially accurate”). Now that it’s out there fans are more angry than ever because in their eyes perfection should always be delivered upon.

Personally, I’m disappointed this release doesn’t deliver what we all hoped it would – after months of speculation and leaks about remasters being released for Xbox players only is hurtful; nonetheless there are undeniable positives associated with the port itself that can’t be overlooked, particularly image quality.
Eurogamer reports that PlayStation consoles provide a “much more stable image” when it comes to Resident Evil Redemption 2. Players won’t see as many fine details from Baldur’s Gate 3 or during Starfield’s countdown, yet “fine geometric elements and foliage seem sharp and solid”. Xbox X, while providing “unstable resolution with obvious jagged edges”.
As I play the Switch version of Batman: Arkham Knight for the second time as John Marston, there have already been some visual improvements seen so far compared to playing on Xbox or PS. Although its power might make things harder on Switch than its rivals.
Assuming we treat this battle between current-gen console giants as just that – an “argument,” then, between Sony and Microsoft is almost inconsequential in terms of details, while visually there’s more going on than expected (particularly given PS port’s higher resolution shadow-maps), yet while major aesthetic upgrades were attempted this still falls short of our hopes and desires.
