The Witcher 4: ‘Last Hunt’ trailer is breathtaking in its design.
One fan-made trailer provides us with a sneak peak into what to expect in The Witcher 3’s sequel.
Since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt launched eight years ago, fans are longing to see more from Geralt of Rivia and Ciri – his adopted daughter from Ciri’s birth in 1996 – since there have only been two expansions – Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine respectively. Unfortunately since 2016, nothing substantial from The Witcher series has come our way.
One fan can help us envision what will await us from The Witcher 4 (yet to be named), thanks to Anonymous Gamer on Youtube’s fan-made trailer of Gwent being played out at a Tavern before it is interrupted by Nilfgaardians; their interferance leads into an epic battle scene featuring Geralt’s deep voice-over commentary while Ciri and her adoptive father leave after playing Gwent together and enjoying “a good game”.
Not even though this fan-made trailer is short has it left fans buzzing with speculation regarding The Witcher 4. CD Projekt Red confirmed its existence back in March 2022 followed by an updated title in October. Although details on The Witcher 4 remain scarce at present, we know it will use Unreal Engine 5 and feature characters similar to Geralt of Rivia from previous installments; so hoping he may return may just be wishful thinking!
CD Projekt Red has not given an exact release date for The Witcher 4, codename Polaris, however we anticipate its arrival sometime around 2026. With their focus back to our favorite monster slayers following Cyberpunk 2077 being put aside temporarily.
