Official announcement from Mr Robot Producers about Cyberpunk 2077 live-action adaptation!
Who could have predicted, when Cyberpunk 2077 first hit shelves back in 2020, that by 2023, its success would be so evident?
Night City is alive with activity – making it clear why many players consider it their preferred video game location. Between Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion release, Cyberpunk 2077 is finally living up to its potential; complete its redemption arc, you might say. Just today, CD Projekt RED took to Twitter and announced that 25 million copies had sold worldwide, with Phantom Liberty selling 3 million in only seven days alone! Not only has that happened either; the live-action adaptation of Cyberpunk 2077 is also coming soon, which is huge news!
CD Projekt RED recently made headlines when they announced they are teaming up with global media company Anonymous Content on an exciting live-action project within Cyberpunk 2077’s universe. While details about its length or shape remain vague, fans of Cyberpunk should no doubt welcome this news as something exciting!
Anonymous Content isis well known for its work on Emmy award-winning shows True Detective and Mr. Robot, along with the Oscar-winning films Spotlight and The Revenant. The Cyberpunk 2077 project is in safe hands – CD Projekt RED will collaborate closely with head of television Garret Kemble, director of development Ryan Schwartz, and chief creative officer David Levine – making Cyberpunk more similar to an ongoing TV series than a film release! Previously, Levine oversaw drama production at HBO, including shows True Detective Westworld Game of Thrones, among many other projects. He managed drama output at HBO, including work on True Detective Westworld Game of Thrones productions!
CDPR’s Cyberpunk 2077 team will play an instrumental role in its creative development; potentially, another The Last of Us-sized success could lie ahead! We hope so.
