Over 30k signatures were collected for The Simpsons Hit & Run sequel petition.
An online petition calling for the production of The Simpsons: Hit & Run 2 has garnered over 30,000 signatures so far.
Since 2016, this petition has been established to encourage developers/publishers to either make a sequel to The Simpsons: Hit & Run or adapt and remake/remaster it for modern audiences and platforms.
Hit & Run is widely considered one of the greatest Simpsons video games ever developed, giving players access to various locations within Springfield, like an uncompromising version of Grand Theft Auto.
Playable characters and vehicles are available throughout the game, unlocked by completing story missions or side quests for money, or you could do what most players do: run over Springfield residents while knocking Homer’s neighbour Ned out of his path as much as possible.
The petition suggests a remake should feature more playable characters – particularly fan favourites – more vehicles to unlock, and an expanded open world that builds upon what existed previously. Furthermore, more things should be discovered during exploration, such as collectables.
Hassaan Mohammad, its organizer, stated the public demand is there and was surprised it hasn’t happened already, or there might even be a remaster of the original game… If you feel nostalgic for this game and would love another instalment created, take action today by signing the petition or spreading the word of this one’s existence!
Fans appear in agreement; over 300,000 have already signed to support making a sequel/remake available for Xbox, PlayStation, PC and possibly Nintendo consoles.
Unfortunately, for it to even have any chance at becoming a reality, it will require many signatures, but there’s an appetite to bring back this game in some form or fashion.
